Legacy Societies

When & Where

12:00 - 13:00, Monday 3rd July 2017
Garden Room - Level 3

Emma Warren-Thomas , Richard Witt

Some legacy “experts” have said that people don't like joining legacy clubs as leaving a gift in a will is a personal matter  and people don't want to publicise the fact. This session will attempt to dispel this myth,  identify how to establish a legacy society and identify what the advantages are, apart from increasing the legacy income. The session will look at the rationale, similarities and differences between two successful legacy societies the first run by Sedbergh School Foundation, the second by the Royal Opera House.  The presentations will look at some of the materials used, incentives and the marketing initiatives that have led to the growth of the societies and the secondary but very important benefits of these very engaged supporters.
