Job Role

The Elton John Aids Foundation

For over a decade Anne Aslett has guided the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), first as Executive Director of the UK-based charity and now as CEO of the newly integrated UK and US arms of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Formerly International Development Director at EJAF, Anne established the Foundation’s grants strategy and portfolio, working in over 20 countries and managing a team to oversee £60m in grants. This saw EJAF grow to become one of the foremost independent AIDS charities in the world, to date raising more than £300m and leveraging a further £290m for programmes that have reached over 100m people with HIV information, testing and treatment. More recently Anne has established a strong advocacy role for Elton and EJAF, including helping to build the $1.2bn MenStar Coalition that aims to reduce HIV infection rates amongst young men. The Foundation’s role working alongside local, national and international partners, government officials, and advocates to promote a global response to the AIDS pandemic has helped to combat stigma, prevent infections, provide treatment and services, and motivate governments to end AIDS. Anne has also served on a number of related boards and committees including Comic Relief and the European Funders Group
